With 34 days left, it’s time to understand the Cyber AB—the official accreditation body behind CMMC.

While the Department of Defense created the CMMC framework, it delegated oversight to the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body (Cyber AB). This organization governs how certifications are issued, who can assess you, and what standards must be followed.

What Cyber AB Does

• Accredits C3PAOs (Certified Third-Party Assessment Organizations)
• Maintains the CMMC Marketplace
• Sets assessment protocols
• Provides training and oversight for assessors

Why You Should Care

• Only Cyber AB-accredited C3PAOs can certify you
• Registered Practitioner Organizations (RPOs) must be listed in the Cyber AB Marketplace
• All assessments follow Cyber AB protocols
